Demonstration at City Hall, Monday at 7:00pm

City councilors will be voting on the Avenue du Parc name change on Monday evening beginning at 7:30pm. We are organizing a mass demonstration in front of City Hall starting at 7pm to counter the decision and show our support for Avenue du Parc. Bring your loud voices, protest signs, and as many people as possible, our voices must be heard. Ave. du Parc will be saved!
Demonstration: Lundi 30 Octobre, 2006
Hôtel de ville
275, rue Notre-Dame Est
Montréal (Québec)

I am very angry about this change, what makes me more angry is that Tremblay didn't even make an announcement of the planning of this to everyone. He will never get my vote again and I urge everyone to do the same as well.

It's a real shame ruining this historic street. New York has their Park Avenue, let us have ours! It sounds simple yet fancy too.

I'll see if I can go to the protest on Monday...

Some good news at last: According to today's Gazette front page the city councilors will NOT vote on this issue on Monday since it has to be discussed previously in another meeting before a vote is possible. As these meetings are held monthly, the next possible date for a vote would be November 27.

I was born on Park Ave. 73 yrs ago. Istill take nostalgic visits to the street & house where I grew up! All my childhood memories are associated with Park Ave. If this uncalled-for,unnessary, and inappropriate change takes place , my memories of childhood will never be the same. Shame on Mayor Tremblay and his gutless group of unuchs!

We are still assembling to protest tonight (30th), even though they are not officially voting, because tonight is when they will be discussing the issue and we want them to know we're watching! And that we care! Please come, loud and proud, out of love for Parc!
